Using laser treatment to remove hyper-pigmentation
Hyperpigmentation is defined as excess pigmentation in a bodily part or tissue, including the skin. Hyperpigmentation removal treatments target darkened areas of your skin, which may be a result of hormones, sun damage, injuries, your skin type, medications or acne. For example, melasma — sometimes called “the mask of pregnancy” — is marked by brown to grey-brown patches on the face that occur as a result of hormonal changes associated with pregnancy.
Treatments would be based on the course of the hyper-pigmentation, but any of the following would be used: Elight IPL, Laser or combination of both, chemical peel, ultra high frequency EM treatment, Initial consultation with patch tests and Home Prescription.
eLight combines the synergy of bipolar Radio Frequency (RF) and light energies to treat vascular and pigmented lesions like rosacea, spider veins, red and brown spots, as well as skin imperfections caused by sun damage. Unlike other lasers or IPL, with an eLight IPL, the visible light energy targets the unwanted pigment or imperfections while the RF energy stimulates the production of collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. The addition of RF provides the additional benefit of treating fine wrinkles and improves skin texture irregularities, laxity and smoothness.
